New Schengen Visa Rules for Indians

 The European Union has recently implemented new Schengen visa rules for Indian nationals, making it easier for frequent travelers to obtain long-term, multiple-entry visas.

Key Changes:

  1. Multiple-Entry Visas with Longer Validity:

    • Indian nationals can now receive multiple-entry Schengen visas valid for up to two years if they have obtained and lawfully used two Schengen visas within the previous three years.
    • After successfully using the two-year visa, they can potentially obtain a five-year multiple-entry visa, provided their passport has sufficient remaining validity​ (European External Action Service)​​ (NDTV Profit)​.

  2. Travel Rights:

    • The longer validity visas are primarily for those with an established travel history to the Schengen area.
